Large Haggis
Hand-made to Great Grandfather Robert Pringle’s 1902 recipe, our artisan Haggis is a taste of Scotland at its finest!
Simple ingredients, for a classic taste, our 1902 recipe uses beef flank, lamb trim, ox liver, onions, medium oatmeal, and our own special blend of spices.
In short, it contains nothing dodgy! i.e. no hearts, no lungs, no artificial colourants, flavourings, or preservatives.
We believe a great Haggis should be moist, yet crumbly (not sticky and gooey), and most definitely should not contain anything we’d prefer not to eat!
Ours is made on the premises weekly, in a natural casing, and vacuum packed for freshness.
For best results prick Haggis a few times and place in a pan of cold water and bring to the boil, turn down immediately and simmer for 20 mins (longer for larger Haggis)
Oven: place in casserole dish with a little water, cover with tin foil to ensure haggis is kept moist. Heat at 180 degrees (gas mark 6), until piping hot, approximately 1 hour, times vary depending on size.
Microwave: heat through until piping hot.
